My mom is here! Which means I might actually be able to squeeze in a few outfit posts before I head home. I saved the touristy stuff for her visit, so today we visited the Eiffel tower (which I have very strong and ambivalent sentiments about, but that is to be discussed in my book), and went for a boat ride along the Seine. This of course, occurred after the very important business of vintage shopping. Cheap vintage shopping. On Saturday we wandered around le 1er arrondissement for nearly an hour trying to find this one vintage store that I passed on my way home from hanging out with Elodie last week (Elodie! We never found it! I feel so stupid). I found the Starbucks where we shared a latte before parting ways, and I even found the Métro stop that I made a mental note of after passing said elusive vintage shop, but I could not, for the life of me, triangulate the proper coordinates in my memory bank to find that god... damn... store.
We did, however, stumble across Kiloshop, a pay-by-weight vintage chain with a slightly chaotic but nicely color-coded selection. I wisely picked out some light knit tops and got out of there with an average expenditure of €2 per item. My mother found the kick-pleated skirt I'm wearing here, and I've nearly convinced her to let me have it. She's off to explore Versailles for the next couple of days while I great up to cover the FIAC art fair. I've got ten more days to go. I've been missing LA this whole time, and I'm already starting to miss Paris. If you'd like to follow, I'm posting much more regularly on Instagram, and sharing a little bit about my writing project over at ArtSlant.
