Lady Date

One of the best parts of visiting my family is seeing my BFF Numero Uno Lady Elisa P. Foster. She's been my thrifting buddy and partner-in-crime for about seven years now; she knows a ton about vintage, is a super-duper illustrator and graphic designer (she did the layout for the latest issue of Blood is the New Black), is a real smarty pants (I had her critique my college admission essays), and can open a bottle of beer with her teeth.  I love her very much.

After some light thrifting, we happened to catch the library bookstore on a rare day open.

me - vintage dress / mom's flats / dollar store ring :: elisa - vintage dress / kork ease wedges / hot ass
I forgot what it was like to be able to wear a simple dress and flats and not have to carry a jacket or sweater around. It was so hot in fact, I had to double-fist iced coffee and water in order to stay properly hydrated while getting properly caffeinated.

I don't know why I even bother packing clothes when I go home - I've already got two dresses, two blouses and a vintage skirt suit (!!!) to squeeze into my suitcase. My limited luggage space is the one contingency that allowed me to leave the bookstore relatively empty-handed. Believe, if Multiplication Rap wasn't missing it's accompanying cassette tape, there would be a lot of annoyed Virgin America patrons on the flight back to the bay.

But they would have their times tables down pat.
