Bay Area Bounty

Soo-weet feather print silk blouse from Salvation Army in downtown Oakland. The silk is key. I passed up many other blouses because they were polyester, and I'm trying to be more discriminate in my thrifting. Sometimes the good Lord looks upon thy prudence justly, and shines down upon thee with grace and good favor in kind.

What I'm trying to say is that I really like this blouse. I wore it the other day with my little glasses pin and an old cashmere sweater from Ron Herman that's falling apart, but I've hung onto because there is a general paucity of cashmere in my life.

I Still Shop at Hot Topic

Where else would you find these glorious monstrosities?

Kiss-print tights!  I know I'm toeing a dangerous line here, but a pinch of mall-punk is like fashion confetti, and I've always had an affinity for novelty legwear. Evidence suggests it goes back pretty far.

I have so many new photos to share (I just started experimenting with flash gels) but I'm living out of a suitcase right now. They'll have to wait until my scanner arrives from Los Angeles with the rest of my trunks...and by trunks I mean cardboard boxes and Ikea bags.

Now Watching

Field Trip: SF MOMA

I went straight to the rooftop garden and coffee bar and worked my way down. First, I visited The More Things Change exhibit. I like curation based on conceptual themes - it makes me think a little bit harder about why each piece is there.

This tapestry by Pae White really took my breath away. At first I thought it was a photo, and then a painting...

Poodle Coat

Today I wore my black poodle coat and some vertiginous ankle boots my Grandmother got me for Christmas. I'm trying to step up my shoe game this year - my boyfriend informed me a few months ago that my mother wears sexier shoes than I do.

And you know what? It's true.

Here and There
