The story is nothing to write home about, but Funny Girl is a must-see for the wardrobe and production design alone. There are so many elements that reminded me of contemporary collections...

Dolce&Gabbana. Any season, ever.

It was hard to get a good still of this little sailor outfit, but it has the same girlish nostalgia of lines like Rachel Antonoff, Dear Creatures, etc.

I immediately though of this Charles Anastase SS2011 dress...

Hmmmmm...can't put my finger on it, but it reminds me of Luella (God rest her soul), or a glammed-up Rachel Comey. My favorite outfit of the entire film.

More sparkles. Bab's character isn't supposed to be conventionally beautiful, but as the film progresses, she becomes more of a romantic lead and her grooming/hair/makeup is gorgeous throughout.

Prada SS2010 fer sher!

Spring 2011 anything - color's back, remember?
Ok, off to start a mountain of reading. It feels weird to be a fulltime student again!
